Welcome to ACCPHE

Strengthening Institutions. Advancing Educational Quality.

Higher education institutions play an essential role in developing knowledge, preparing professionals, strengthening communities, and shaping the leadership of future generations. Their effectiveness depends not only on the programs they offer, but on the integrity of their academic systems, the competence of their leadership, and their commitment to measurable educational outcomes.

ACCPHE exists to promote these qualities within Christian and private higher education — providing a framework through which institutions examine their academic practices, strengthen governance, improve educational delivery, and demonstrate their commitment to established standards of quality and accountability.

Guiding conviction
“Credible higher education must combine academic quality with institutional accountability and a sustained commitment to the development of competent, principled, and responsible graduates.”

Our Vision

To become a respected international reference point for academic quality, institutional integrity, ethical leadership, and continuous improvement in Christian and private higher education.

Our Mission

To accredit and recognize eligible Christian and private higher education institutions through rigorous, transparent, and evidence-based quality assurance processes that promote transformative education and cultivate graduates equipped for leadership, professional influence, and ethical responsibility.

Our Purpose

To strengthen the quality, credibility, accountability, and societal contribution of Christian and private higher education institutions through institutional evaluation, professional guidance, standards development, and continuous improvement.

Core Pillars

Four commitments that guide the Council’s work

Each pillar informs the standards, evaluation practice, and professional guidance the Council provides.

I

Faith & Values Integration

We support Christian institutions in preserving their stated faith-based educational identity while encouraging all participating institutions to demonstrate ethical leadership, institutional integrity, and respect for their educational commitments.

II

Academic Excellence

We promote rigorous academic standards, meaningful learning outcomes, responsible assessment practices, and continuous evaluation of institutional and program quality.

III

Market Relevance

We encourage institutions to align curricula, teaching practices, and graduate competencies with changing professional expectations, Kingdom principles, community needs, entrepreneurship, and responsible innovation.

IV

Global Recognition

We seek to strengthen institutional credibility, promote transparent quality assurance practices, and support opportunities for international academic cooperation, subject to applicable recognition requirements.

Accreditation and Institutional Development

A structured approach to quality assurance

Accreditation evaluates an institution’s academic operations, governance, educational resources, and quality assurance practices against established standards — through self-assessment, independent review, transparent decision-making, and continuous improvement.

Membership alone does not constitute accreditation or establish an institution’s legal authority to award academic degrees.

  1. 01Preparatory membership and institutional development
  2. 02Eligibility assessment and accreditation application
  3. 03Institutional self-study and supporting documentation
  4. 04Independent evaluation and institutional review
  5. 05Accreditation decisions and ongoing quality monitoring
Membership and Accreditation Categories

Recognizing institutional development and achievement

The Council’s framework provides three distinct classifications. Each is published separately in the official directory and must be represented accurately by participating institutions.

Membership

Associate Membership

For institutions participating in the Council’s preparatory development framework — standards orientation, readiness guidance, and structured preparation for future evaluation.

Not an accreditation award.

Accreditation

Accredited Institution

Reserved for institutions that have completed the approved evaluation process and received a formal accreditation award from the authorized Council body.

Each award states scope, effective date, review date, and conditions.

Designation

Distinguished Membership

A separate designation recognizing exceptional educational leadership, institutional innovation, sustained excellence, or notable contribution to higher education.

A distinct recognition, separate from accreditation.
